The field campaign of GAME Siberia was carried out from 1996 to 2002 including the two intensive observations in 1998 and 2000. The main results of the land surface processes of water and energy in the 1-D scale is summarized in this presentation.
The main results obtained from the field campaign are as follows; 1) The plant phenology strongly affects the energy balance above the canopy, of the larch forests in the middle reaches of Lena River, and the Bowen ratio was dramatically dropped because of leaf foliating. 2) There was no significant inter-annual variation of evapotranspiration although the amount of precipitation varied widely year by year. The steady evapotarspiration resulted from the usage of permafrost-melt water of trees. 3) The differences of energy budget between above the larch forest and the pine forest were remarkable in the early spring, and the Bowen ratio was similar in the summer season. 4) The parameters indicating the response of canopy conductance showed the similar values in the larch and pine forest in the middle reaches of Lena River, but there were the differences in the parameters for the larch forests between in the middle reaches of Lena River and in the headwater.
